University of Kashmir changed its Exam Pattern for BG end Semesters from Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to Descriptive Type , effectively from April 2022.
The Previous Question Pattern Of BG End Semesters was based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). But on the recommendations made by Academic Council meeting held on 23 November 2021 changed the pattern of Question Papers for all even semesters (2nd, 4th and 6th) semester-end examinations of various Bachelors Programmes under CBCS statutes and regulations,
The Vice Chancellor has been pleased to accord approval to the following with a view to streamline the entire process of the conduct of various semester-end examinations of all the programmes, to uphold the credibility and sanctity of examinations:
1. Adoption of descriptive pattern of Question Papers for all the even (2nd, 4th and 6th) semester end examinations on the same pattern as is in vogue for the odd semesters (1st, 3rd & 5th) of all the ensuing examinations to be conducted with effect from 01-04-2022 and onwards. However, the semester end examinations that may commence before the cutoff date and extend even after 01-04-2022 shall continue to be conducted as per the existing pattern.
2. Adoption of the above descriptive pattern for all even semester end examinations for Backlog Candidates of 2016 batches and onwards with effect from 01-04-2022.
3. All Examinations for the backlog students from batch 2016 and onwards shall be conducted according to the latest operational syllabus provided the title of the course / paper is same. A separate question paper shall be served in case of change of title of any course / paper and the same shall be notified separately well before the commencement of the examination.
In the event of change in the credit weightage of the theory question paper, as a result of change in the evaluation pattern of the tutorial component, the marks obtained in the paper shall be proportionately raised / reduced after evaluation.
